Behaviour incident log writer
Turn the facts of a behaviour incident into a calm, factual log entry you can file and share.
Describe what happened, who was involved and what you did, and the tool drafts a neutral, defensible incident log entry. It sticks to facts, avoids labels, and includes the follow-up you need to record. Always review it against your own behaviour and safeguarding policies.
Use initials in shared records if your policy requires it.
Facts only — what was said, done, or observed. Avoid interpreting intent.
Who intervened, what was said, any first aid, and who was informed.
No card needed — keep going as long as you like.
No child data is stored. Your notes are used to generate the draft and nothing else.
Draft incident log entry
Your draft will appear here. Always read it back and edit before it goes anywhere near a parent, a file or an inspector.
Members get unlimited runs, the AI Coach, the Ofsted, EYFS and SEND toolkits and the compliance map — from £5.99 a month, 7-day free trial.
Getting the most out of this
- •A good incident log is factual, timed and signed. Avoid words like 'naughty', 'aggressive' or 'always' — they label rather than describe.
- •If the incident raises a safeguarding concern, record it under your safeguarding procedure, not just the behaviour log.
- •Tell parents what happened before they hear it elsewhere. A brief, factual account protects trust.
